dancing in the sheets

This can't go anywhere but crashing down, and upon impact we just may shatter into a thousand pieces. That's the price of being fragile and still hurdling through this like cars with cut brake lines. But what do we care? We accept drinks from strangers in bars, and have no one to blame but ourselves when we wake up with missing organs.

You steal my heart a little more each day, and dig yourself a little deeper in doing so. I make bad investments and jump from seventeen-story towers. A perfect pair.

entr'acte

The house has gone from hushed to chaos. People that moments before had sat in unchallenged silence are now milling about and chattering. My eyes are still glued on the stage, the hushed silence still alive within me.

In a short while, the performance will commence. I see myself in the story, but can't find my lines. I want to find myself in its ending, to reach the close along with all the pancaked souls onstage.

What a luxury it would be to leave it all up there when the curtain comes down...
